Daly Wilson Big Band – The Exciting LP [Kerrie Biddell]

If you’re digging for albums by the Daly Wilson Big Band, then this is the one you need to look out for. Its their best LP and the unfortunately the hardest one to find. Recorded during the early 70’s, the album features the talented Kerrie Biddell, who is backed by the Daly Wilson Big Band. The  stand out tracks are “Limp Dropper”, A moody funk instrumental which kicks off the album. It’s followed by “Dirty feet” which has a fat little drum break  (sampled by Mobb Deep for Shook ones part II). “In Necessity” is another funky cut featuring the vocals of Kerrie Biddell and so too is “Today” . One of the better Aussie Jazz albums and one to grab if you see it on your travels!
